Dental clinic ELIZABETE was founded on the eve of 1996. The clinic takes its name after the historical name of the street in which it was opened. In its turn, the street was named after Elisabeth (Luise Marie Auguste von Baden), the first wife of the Russian Emperor Alexander, who due to personal circumstances had to hide on Kurzeme seaside for a month and a half and had allegedly visited Riga.

As of January 1, 2024, significant changes regarding pediatric dental care have come into effect in the Republic of Latvia. According to the National Health Service (NVD), substantial improvements and updates have been introduced to the system of state-funded dental services.

A Modern Approach to Pediatric Dentistry

To enhance the accessibility and quality of children's dental care, the NVD, in collaboration with the Latvian Dental Association, has developed over 30 new dental procedures and revised state tariffs for more than 10 existing treatments.

These changes enable:

  • The use of modern methods and advanced equipment in pediatric dentistry.

  • State-funded root canal treatment and filling.

  • Application of dental sealants for effective caries prevention.

  • An increased volume of services provided, aligning with the actual operational costs of clinics.

Which Services Are State-Funded?

For children and adolescents under the age of 18, the following services are available through the state budget:

  • 🦷 Dental Treatment — once a year.

  • ✨ Professional Oral Hygiene — up to twice a year.

This means parents can ensure their children receive high-quality, timely dental care without any additional financial burden.

Children’s Health as a Priority

The updated financing system for pediatric dentistry focuses on prevention, early intervention, and establishing proper oral hygiene habits from a young age. Regular dental visits help prevent serious issues in the future and preserve a healthy smile for years to come.
